Data deletion
Sealed
This page explains how to remove data held by the aarmoury Facebook app. The app is used by one person, me, to post to Facebook Pages I run. Unless you’re me, it almost certainly holds nothing about you and this has been a relatively wasted trip. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
If you connected the app to Facebook
In practice that’s me, but the instructions work for anyone:
- On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy, then Settings.
- Find the app under Business integrations, or under Apps and websites. Which one depends on how Meta has rearranged the menus this quarter.
- Choose Remove.
That withdraws the app’s access straight away. Postiz can no longer use the access token, and I’ll delete the Page connection and anything stored with it from the server.
If you want something else deleted
If you think the app holds something about you, such as your name attached to a comment on one of my posts, email [email protected] with:
- what you’d like deleted;
- the Page and post it relates to, if you know;
- a way to confirm it’s you, if that turns out to be needed. It usually won’t.
- You email [email protected], with the details above
- Within 30 days Deleted from the live server, and I email to say so
- Afterwards Older encrypted backups are pruned, and the copies go with them
Backups are only ever restored to rebuild the server after something breaks. If that happens, I’ll apply any deletion requests again before the server does anything else.
Deleting something on my side doesn’t remove it from Facebook. A comment you left on a post stays there until you or the Page removes it, because Meta holds the original. I only ever had a copy.
Confirmation
If you’d like written confirmation that the deletion’s done, ask and you’ll get one. It’ll be short.
There won’t be much to confirm.
